Q. I would like to book a class as a gift for someone – is this possible?
A. Yes, you can book either an individual space in a group session, or a private lesson. Please contact me for availability.
Q. Will it be a problem if I miss a class in the course?
A. If there is availability you can take a class in another course. However, please contact me if you wish to cancel, at least 24 hours in advance, so that I can prepare for the correct numbers. Unfortunately there is no refund for a cancelation after you have started the course, but your missed class can be arranged in a future course.
Q. If I miss a class, can I catch up?
A. It it's your first time cooking Japanese then it's best to come to the first class, which introduces a lot of the basics. The remaining classes could be substituted if required.
Q. Do you have vegetarian dishes available?
A. Yes - When there is a mixed class, we will cook vegetarian dishes separately. Please advise me of your food preferences when you book the course. There are many Buddhist dishes that use soy in place of meat or fish – this type of cooking is called syo-jin ryouri.
Q. I would like to arrange a special event for a group. Is this possible?
A. Yes – For a one-off session of 2.5 hours you can choose the dishes you would like to learn, then eat afterwards. Sake or Japanese tea can also be arranged. This is quite popular for team / corporate events, social occasions and celebrations. Please contact me for pricing based on numbers.
"I used to live in Japan and I really missed the variety and the subtleties of everyday Japanese food. I was able to recapture this in Atsuko's classes; they are set in a really relaxed environment, very friendly and well organised and above all really tasty. The best part was eating the meal we had all prepared together. I didn't want the classes to end."
